//thunder
work was smashing last night. i picked up a shift for extra money...and you know what? the more that i get to know these thunder kids the more i wouldn't mind picking up that attraction once it goes back up. i really like those guys...i really don't mind working with them...i fail to understand why people have some aversion to working with the thunder kids...they're really cool people once you get to know them. actually, i can kind of understand...it's sometimes difficult to adjust to change--change in the environment, change in atmosphere, change in...whatever. i've only been at indy for a little under seven months, so i wouldn't know the old indy crew from the new one...iono...i love everyone.
i was at marquee for the most of the night last night...then i got a stomach ache. tip: don't get salad from a place that specializes in pasta. that was my lesson for the day yesterday. but yeah, i spent most of my shift at marquee with scott. it was fun times.
//sorority.life
alright! tonight i'll be going to la to meet a bunch of sorority girls at a sorority benefit. it should be good times...and a nice bonding experience with mikey...since we haven't had one in awhile, and i have no excuse as to why we haven't bonded in awhile (since we live no more than a few minutes from eachother). it should be a good night. i'd like to say that i'm not expecting anything...but that'd be a lie. i'd like to walk away with at least a phone number tonight...eh...whatever. i'm a nerd, really.
//french.maid
mig: next thing you know, you're a french maid.
well, ya know what? my white shirt is french-cuffed out underneath my black sweater...but, speaking of french maids...the club 33 costumes are like the embodiment of half of my fantasies, really...if you've ever seen them...jeez-us! but, then, you look closer, and realize that they're not skirts...but women can look really hot in them none-the-less.
//[demo]news
i'm still working on songs for the demo...i prolly won't get it recorded for another month, seeing that'll be the only time i'll have to do so...maybe sooner, but i've still gotta finish some songs...and see how many that i can record too. but...it's still very exciting. i'm really happy that i've picked up guitar, because it's opening me up to different keys to write songs in...but...i've narrowed down the name list...here goes:
[*] the firstkiss prophecy (this one is my favorite so far)
[~] iliana (i'm not joking either...i like the way it sounds)
[~] the last december (unfortunately, it's too reminiscent of a counting crows song and the early november)
[~] this day forward
[*] the goodbye weekend
[*] the yearlong kiss
i think i've given up on the whole female name thing...save for iliana...but still. i've got awhile to decide anyways.
i just found a friend in one of your lies.

//holy.crap
all i've been listening to is the early november for the past couple days...they're an awesome band...but, it kinda wears on you listening to nothing but emo-punk for a few days straight, so, i had to pop in something a little more poppier...but, whatever...
//goodness
it's been a nice few days really...except for the fact that today just looks and feels so gloomy...the absence of the sun really makes a difference...it's so damn cloudy...but it's nice and cool...so...there is some good in that.
but, aside from that...i've been talking to people that i hadn't talked to in awhile. like, on monday night, i hung out at sean's house with chris and sean...and it wasn't so bad...actually, it was fun. it was cool...i didn't have to grind my teeth or anything, it was a lot better than what i'd expected. also, sica and i almost went on jungle together sunday night before our shifts...but, disney dave was there, and we decided that it'd prolly be in our best interests to turn back and not go on.
yeahh...
tomorrow night should be awesome: mikey and me (i haven't seen mikey since the porn drinking game night) are gonna drive out to la and go to carie's sorority benefit...it should be good times...lots of girls...so...yeah...and an excuse to dress up, kinda...sorta (casual-formal)...iono...i'll prolly wear black slacks, black sweater, white shirt french-cuffed out...maybe...we'll see.

i tried narrowing it down by trying to figure out which ones look best on a t-shirt...it's not the best method, so i found out.
//[under]the.radar
okay...here are my latest mp3.com finds...
[~]the.remarkable.rocket (official website)
quick description: a guy with a guitar + a girl with a violin. to the lit buffs: yes, the name is derived from the oscar wilde short story. these two brits make beautiful emo rock, inspired by the smiths, rilo kiley, and the pixies. but seriously...listen to these guys, you will not be disappointed. the song tomorrow features a glockenspiel, harmonica, and strings...and it sounds wonderful. if anything, they're the best excuse to explain why you love the english.
[~]copeland (official website)
okay...so i talked about these guys earlier today. but...they've got an awesome emo/alt/indie sound. i can't wait to see these guys along side the early november. walking downtown will get you hooked into this band...check them out.
[~]pictures.of.annie (official site)
okay...if you know anything about my dating history, then you know why this band jumped out at me and what sparked my curiousity. but, dismissing all of that, i found a duo from michigan that makes great emo music. this band was formed little over a year ago, and i can't wait to see what else they come out with. they're out to prove that they're not just another dash clone...and they will do well in proving so. check them out.

//de[mockery]
okay...the california recall election was a joke, in my opinion. i hate the fact that i'm going to be a pundit for the next paragraph or two, but i need to release my thoughts for a second. as a californian, i'm really questioning this whole process...especially now that we have the governator. i'm sorry...but, he has zero credibility. i'm a democrat, and i voted for tom mcclintock, he's a senator, he had a plan to lower taxes. i voted no on the recall...my reasoning behind my decisions was this:
grey davis isn't the best governor, nor is he the worst. he is not the person to blame for the energy crisis...that much is left to enron and the other energy companies that decided to screw everyone and go broke. unfortunately, davis was the scapegoat for our state debt, and enough people decided to recall him from his position before he could finish his job. davis had two more years to fix the problem...and it seems very unfair to pull him out of office for things that aren't really his fault.
as for voting for mcclintock...why not bustamante? i simply don't like bustamonte's politics...he's giving all these handouts to special interest groups in order to buy votes, and i don't like that style. it's not doing the right thing...i don't like preferential policies, and he was promising them. i liked mcclintock...he has political experience and he had a plan.
i voted, and i believe that i have the right to voice my opinion and complain because i did so. i will say this much...maybe i'm not giving enough credit to schwarzenegger...maybe he will be a good politician...maybe his advisors will do a good job of running the state...maybe he'll surprise me. before i start giving arnie my props...he'd better do a good job and do what he was elected to do...otherwise, california politics are no more than a punchline to a million jokes.
//the.room.is.too.cold
okay...so i just picked up the new early november cd yesterday, and let me tell you: HOLY CRAP IT IS GOOD. first off, to do a little advertising, it's $8.99 this week at best buy...and right now it comes with a limited edition dvd. but, yeah...
the re-working of ever so sweet is still mainly acoustic, but they added a string arrangement to the song and it sounds fawesome. crap...you just need to go buy that cd...awesome band, effing awesome band.
can't wait to see them at chain reaction...they're there with some awesome bands too: copeland, count the stars, and hidden in plain view. it'll be a sick show.
//later
deeper thoughts about life? maybe later...check the site later...maybe i'll think of something.

//weekend
it was a really nice weekend...different, and interesting.
because of this last weekend at work, i don't think i'll ever be able to tell if a girl is really a girl, or a transvestite! yes...i believe that all of my co-cast members had interesting moments on saturday...it was good times.
my sunday night was interesting as well.
//[demo/cut]
i'm getting closer and closer to cutting that all important demo cd!! i'm freaking excited.
so far, i've gotten two offers to cut demos...and i think it's pretty cool...i think it might be my calling...at least for the moment.
it would just be me and a piano--and a guitar, if i got the guitar parts figured out for any song...so, that'd be, like, 2-5 tracks (vocals, piano, backing vocals[?], more backing vocals [?], guitar [?]).
everything is still up in the air, but it's exciting knowing that the opportunity is there.
if i were to sum up my sound right now, in comparison to other bands, it would be as follows:
coldplay + something corporate + ben folds + the early november
//name.game
right now, i'm trying to think of a clever name for my musical endeavors...it used to be winter discontent...but it doesn't sit well with me anymore. i've been thinking of other names like the anne mixtapes (but it sounds too much like a bad dj name), the jenifer project (i really like that one, for some reason), groping arriana...iono...the kristle collapse perhaps...or some derivation of those names...for whatever reason, i've been stuck on putting a female name into the name of the project. i'm steering away from putting any of the names of people i've been involved with because i write my music about a lot of people, and a lot of things...so, if i actually stuck with the annie mixtapes, it would seem like all the songs were about annie...when that's far from the truth...so...i want to keep the name general, if i do put a female name in the project, that's why i like the jenifer project/mixtapes/collapse...it's a generic female name, and...yeah...it's something fun to think about.
what's your opinion?
[~]the jenifer project
[~]the jenifer mixtapes
[~]the jenifer collapse
[~]some other completely different name...
