my mom had the day off from work yesterday...and it was particularly surprising, because she usually only takes every other friday off...but she took thursday off...so, it caught me off guard. but, she was out of the house for the most part...she dropped ethan off at kindercare...got groceries--and she's supporting the strike!!! she shopped stater brothers!!! union rocks!!!. then she went off to get lunch and see a movie...it was just really nice to see my mom excited and stuff. i don't know...it made me happy to see my mom happy.

okay...so i bought a couple magazines this week...and i've been watching tv a lot lately...and the word metrosexual has come up quite a bit lately. under recollection, i remember a friend saying

nate, you're such a metrosexual.

and, my first response was: but i don't have sex with public transit, what do you mean?!

but...since it has come up so much...i looked it up...and well...to sum it up, a metrosexual is this:

metrosexual n 1a. a heterosexual male who displays traits and/or behavior that are typically that of a homosexual male; modern-day dandy; closet heterosexual. 1b. a heterosexual male who is in touch with his feminine side; adj. 2 to be a heterosexual male and display traits and/or behavior that are typically that of a homosexual male. (ex. nate zablan, david beckham)

well...i guess that the inception of that word is really doing wonders for modern culture...i mean, whether or not you percieve it as a bad thing, there are a lot of dandies out there now a days...myself included. it's such a good word...appropriate for the times. i mean, let's face it, when a show with five gay men that gay up a straight guy is one of the most recent successes on television, there's gotta be a word for this new thing. besides, i've been looking for an excuse to compare myself to the great david beckham.

i mean, i'm a straight guy who occasionally wears black eyeliner, can check out other guys without shame, drinks fancy-schmancy girly colored drinks, fairly fashionable...and i like girls. so...metrosexual is the word of the year.

bowling for columbine was a really good documentary...but it was depressing. i don't know...i don't think i'll watch it again...it was educational at the least...i mean, you'll get a lot of insight about gun control and whatnot...but...man...

okay...so i was just chlling underground @ the titan student union...whatever. i'm watching mtv on one of the two big-screens we've got downstairs. and the video with 5-7 andre3000's comes on...good times...it's a great pick-me-up. anyways...as i leave, someone turns on the other big screen to mtv...and well...i feel like i'm being surrounded by a million andre3000s...it was nutty.
